An electrical infrastructure specialist and qualified linesman with more than 20 years’ experience, Rob brought an extensive range of frontline skills and expertise in the construction and distribution of high and low voltage transmission networks for road, rail, mining and energy authorities to the Syscon team when he came on board in 2014. Bringing a hands-on turnkey approach to every project he manages, Rob is involved every step of the way, from estimation to project delivery. He has earned a strong reputation for delivering high quality service within tight timeframes while maximising productivity and maintaining strict quality and safety control on the worksite.With his extensive list of qualifications and accreditations, Rob is tasked with managing some of Syscon’s most complex and challenging overhead projects. This includes the NBN Power Make Ready Works project covering the Northern Beaches, Sutherland Shire & Hills District for the Downer Group, a project he has been managing for the past two years.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAs Overhead Project Manager, Rob is responsible for leading and managing a crew of 15 Syscon technicians and subcontractors to deliver the full range of overhead projects for private and authority distribution and transmission networks.His primary responsibilities include:• Managing overhead infrastructure services, including construction of overhead lines up to 132kv, concrete and timber pole installation, conductor stringing and augmentation, earthing, street lighting, network connections, upgrades, relocations, and emergency services/repair• Construction planning, milestone management and programming• Detailed contract documentation• Subcontractor selection and management• Management of regulatory applications and approvals• Daily reporting and customer communication• Managing WHS&E compliance on all projects, including site specific risk assessments • Managing stakeholder relationships• Managing budgets and project variations• Project estimation and tender submissionsCORE STRENGTHS• Proven leadership and management skills• Delivering projects on time and within budget, even when the deadline is very tight• Working on challenging sites• Building mutually beneficial relationships between all stakeholders• Adaptable and nimble to change• The ability to effectively multi-task• Strong communication and negotiations skills• Budget and variation management• Problem solving and risk management
