Member of Management Committee and Personnel Committee Carried an individual caseload as lead attorney for immigration, family, elder, and human trafficking cases. Engaged in policy analysis and made recommendations to public officials on legal and social issues.Lobbied elected officials on pertinent public policy issues. Reviewed Amicus briefs in order to determine appropriateness of agency involvementRepresented immigration, human trafficking, deportation, family law, domestic violence, and elder abuse clients in administrative cases, interviews, hearings, and proceedings. Conducted extensive legal research. Drafted petitions, pleadings, motions, stipulations, interrogatories, and requests for production, memorandum of points and authorities, and settlement agreements. Supervised, managed, and coordinated six monthly legal clinics. Created internal immigration training process for law students, volunteers, and staff attorneys.Participated in hiring and interviewing of law clerks, attorneys, management, and legal fellows. Served as supervisor of law clerk program, participating in all aspects of hiring, law clerk management and supervision, training, and interfacing with law schools. Supervised law clerks in legal research and writing, the drafting of legal documents, and the preparation of immigration petitions. Supervised pro bono attorneys preparing VAWA self-petitions. Assisted other legal programs and staff by providing technical assistance related to VAWA, U-Visa, and T-Visa cases. Created and presented training programs on immigration, domestic violence immigration, human trafficking and family law. Supervised paralegals, legal secretaries, and law clerks. Negotiated funding, partnerships, and programs with non-profits, including the CRISP collaborative and the SFILEN network. Drafted grant reports.Represented organization's positions through television and press interviews, with media outlets.
