As an appointed certified Town Inspector of Weights and Measures; I conduct annual inspections, and tests of various scales, and gas pumps, to ensure accuracy in the interest of consumers, pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws within Chapter 98 and sections that follow. In addition, I may be called upon to inspect retail products on shelves in regards to pricing with the use of store scanners, and other methods. I maintain records of all tests, and inspections and submit monthly reports of the businesses I inspected and the results. Within these duties; I also maintain open communications, to the Division of Standards, and State Inspectors to report or, inquire on certain consumer matters.

At the completion of training, I was permanently assigned to the "Old Guard" the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment just outside of Washington D.C. performing duties that included; Firing Party Team Member, Infantry Soldier and Escort to the Honorable Ronald Reagan. I held the highest top-secret clearance that enabled me to escort foreign Dignitaries, high ranking military officers, Heads of State, Senators', Congressman, and the President of the United States. In addition; this unit performed ceremonies at the White House, Arlington National Cemetery, and held Sentinel vigilance at the sacred and honored Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Also, during my tenure as a soldier; I was required to periodically train in combat infantry proficiency, riot control, and high level security functions. The 3rd Infantry unit was a highly disciplined outfit that held a dual role which included; maintaining Honor Guard and Drill and Ceremony proficiency. This unit also engaged in joint service operations with all other branches of the service. On May 30th 1986 I was honorably discharged.
