Working as a tape op again so I could learn Flame in the off-hours, I started doing junior-level online jobs on the Discreet (now Autodesk) Flint, Flame and Inferno systems.Condor's main work consisted of commercials, primarily.I do miss the Flame and hope that, especially after years of more general compositing experience, I'll get the chance to re-learn it again sometime somewhere!

Starting off as a tape operator, I moved to full-time editing on tape-based digital suites, most notably on a GVG Kadenza switcher with Kaleidoscope DVE channels.Most of the work included online editing/auto-assembling and finishing of TV programmes, shows, commercials and the creation of graphic content such as leaders and station identities.Here I also learned AVID and did the occasional offline edit, preparing for the soon-to-be world of non-linear everything....
