About Robert Vanderloop, Ed.D
Dr. Robert Vanderloop is the Director of Intervention Services for the Seminole County School District. In this position, Robert leads the team charged with supporting social work, school-based mental health, psychology, and medical services that support 65 schools, over 63,000 students, and over 10,000 employees. Robert supports the work of aligning department goals to the district mission by providing focused leadership over the MTSS Framework, Behavior Coaching Academy, and YMHFA initiative. Robert is responsible for the hiring, recruitment, training, and evaluating staff in addition to adult coaching and implementation of deliverables in the domains of social work, school-based mental health, psychology, and medical services. Robert manages the federal budgets (Title IV/IX), and works with philanthropic funds to support families in the community.Prior to this position, Robert spent 7 years serving as the Director of Pupil Services in the Glenwood City School District, and the Director of Special Education/Principal for the Independence School District. Robert used his knowledge and position to advocate for students, staff and organization improvements. After spending over 19 years as a professional educator (teacher, dean, principal/director of special education) in urban, suburban, and rural school districts across the state of Wisconsin, and now Florida, Robert impacts staff growth and development, and student achievement. Robert creates and supports systematic change through the professional learning community model. Robert also focuses on the knowledge, motivation, and organizational influences that promote sustainable growth that can apply to any organization. Robert’s influence as a leader has allowed him to become value-added to a vast group of stakeholders. Robert embraces community impact by serving a mentor to youth, VP of the Chippewa Valley Mentor Program, and United Way Campaign chair. Robert held positions on state-level administrative committees, and presented at state Response to Intervention (RtI), PBIS, family engagement, and wellness conferences. Robert has led growth in schools that resulted in recognition for academic achievement, behavioral systems, and state/national wellness, specifically the Michelle Obama “Let’s Move” Award. Personally, Robert has been recognized as a 2017 Herb Kohl Leadership Award recipient.Robert holds a BA in English and Theatre Education, a Masters in Administrative Leadership, and a doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California.
