Was an on call AD firefighter while enrolled in this program. Trained as a crew member on a Type 2 wild land fire hand crew and other crews that were assigned for fire suppression. The duties performed include:-Constructing fire line using various tools such as axes, shovels, Pulaskis, McLeods, Leaf blowers, and chainsaws.-Worked in steep terrain, extreme temperatures, altitude, and smoke.-Constructed line and mopped up, as well as gridding to remove hot spots.-Operated pumps and hose-lays. (Mark-3)-Operated chain saws.-Attended morning briefings, as well as (After Action Reviews).-Assisted on initial attack assignments.-Participated in fire and safety training.-Usage of bladder bags.
