Half of the summer I worked in the field where I helped with a variety of tasks around the job site. I also helped with the Job Safety Analysis while in the field. The other half of the summer I worked in the office where I performed quantity takeoffs and estimated jobs using Construction Link.

During the summer I worked for the general contractor side of the company. The project I worked on was a Walmart Distribution Center. Throughout the summer I learned skills such as, edge forming, tying rebar, operating a skid steer, operating a fork lift, laying out parts of the jobsite, checking grade levels, and many other things. Some of my responsibilities included working with/leading others to get a task done, completing the daily pre-task meeting, covering the safety meeting, and helping with the daily superintendent report. Over the summer I became certified within Crossland to operate basic equipment and became OSHA 10 certified
