Currently active as Program Director at ViroVet NV, but looking for novel career opportunities.At ViroVet I am coordinating the pre-clinical in vivo studies of our proprietary vaccine platform and was responsible for our livestock small-molecule antiviral drug projects (currently in a more advisory capacity). Besides the daily management of our in vivo R&D team, networking and scouting novel opportunities are part of my daily routine.I co-authored the scientific section of ViroVet’s business plan, successfully securing a Series A funding. In the past 15 years in veterinary virology in both the public and private sector, I developed a broad knowledge in veterinary sciences and thorough knowledge in vaccine development, small-molecule drug development and diagnostics. In the latter, I brought a pond-side test for koi herpesvirus from lab to market.Serving as a board member at Flanders Vaccine, a non-profit platform encouraging collaboration between industry, academic and public collaboration in both human and veterinary medicine, I have a broad knowledge of the vaccine ecosystem.In the next steps of my career path I hope to continue contributing to innovation in the veterinary or human space in a middle or senior management position.
