NaviSite are one of the market leaders of colo/cloud hosting at state of the art Data Centres. I am currently working in Surrey between Woking & Redhill sites.My main responsibilities as a Data Centre Technician are as follows:• Server, Storage & Network device installation (IBM, Dell, HP Cisco & more)• Troubleshooting faults with customer and internal equipment (various vendors)• Escalate faults where necessary to other team members and vendors• Carrying out hardware & software upgrades• Rack provisioning• Customer and managed services remote hands• Cable management & provisioning• Auditing• Access control• BMS system monitoring• Customer backups• Training new joiners

During my time at BSL my main responsibility was the implementation, testing and support of voice recording equipment across the UK and EMEA for our large customer base in the financial sector and call center markets. I worked with many different systems but my strongest ones were NICE & Red Box. I have carried out many successful installations to a high standard and these systems are still being used today. I have worked with many different switch maintainers such as Cisco, Mitel, Nortel & Avaya and have a good understanding of each system.Some of the bigger customers I have worked with include TFL, HSBC, Citi, RBS, Bank of New York Mellon, Vodafone, Bank of Tokyo, MUSI UFJ & many many more.I frequently did out of hours work when required by the customer to complete installations and testing. I was also was on call 24/7 on a rotary basis.All our work was SLA based so I had to ensure that the customer and case management systems were updated accurately and on time to ensure the SLAs were met on time, every time.
