As a Project Coordinator I am part of a team that has responsibility for the overall Smart Grid project execution, as well as ensuring the business objectives are met. This is done through monitoring and controlling of current projects. I worked to establish and implement standard procedures and documentation for projects. Along with this effort I established a dashboard to aid in overall reporting for the department. This will serve as a snapshot/visual for upper management to understand how the department is performing.I have been given the opportunity to put the tools explained above into action. In addition to the above responsibilities I have been appointed Project Manager of several Smart Grid Projects. These projects range from single unit additions to underground distribution systems through complex multiple unit above ground distribution systems. This opportunity has given me experience working on projects in high profile very demanding environments, as well as lower profile more relaxed environments all in the same day. There is always a different "hat to be worn" in my current role which keeps things challenging and interesting. I find myself reaching back to prior positions and experiences to be as efficient and effective as possible. I am continuously looking to learn something new to add to my "toolbox" for the future.I have project experience working in the utility market as well as the commercial and industrial market. The majority of my work is performed off-site, this means organization and communication are extremely critical to my success. I have completed projects that improved reliability in historic/tourists areas, nuclear facilities, mission critical data centers, and several other applications. Most recently I have been given the opportunity to manage the design, implementation and coordination of a micro-grid.

I was responsible for planning and managing inventory for one of the key product lines. I created job orders and purchase orders for over 6,000 parts using Oracle ERP. I worked closely with Production Supervisors in both fabrication and assembly to ensure we were meeting our schedule. I also worked closely with Sales Representatives to accommodate customer requirements as best we could. I analyzed product usage to establish optimal stocking levels and planning methods. I was responsible for researching transactions to report on inventory gains and losses, and worked to minimize these adjustments through transaction monitoring and inventory location simplification. I worked closely with Procurement to establish economic batch sizes coming from our suppliers as well as expediting product when necessary. I also worked with Engineering and Producibility to maintain latest revisions to products. Through this all I was charged with minimizing inventory levels and increasing on time delivery. Here I was introduced to a working lean manufacturing environment, with a very active 5S system in place. The usage of a Kanban system is a key factor in the assembly areas as well as supplying our smaller sister organizations with components necessary for their operations.

While at Werner Co. I was quite involved in all aspects of the supply chain. I was responsible for maximizing efficiency in truckload configurations leaving the manufacturing facility. This not only reduced piece price for transportation costs, but also increased sales by optimizing container usage. I was also involved with the optimization of the supply chain itself, researching and running scenarios that would improve our ability to service customers. This total network optimization required communication with employees across the nation. I also sat in on project meetings here as a supply chain representative, this process allowed for supply chain input prior to product launch, reducing in transit scrap due to poor packaging or loading/unloading procedures, as well as storage. These project teams allowed me to communicate with employees of all levels and geographic locations. While I Werner I also spent a brief time planning and purchasing inventory from international suppliers. I was responsible for the inventory management of 2 consignment locations in Georgia, which involved a working relationship with the on site manager. These transactions were performed in JD Edwards One World. I was also involved in reporting and validating information and tools to aide co-workers in their day to day responsibilities.
