Managed the distribution of building materials for three retail stores, direct delivery to customers and job sites; procured, accounted for, distributed building materials to insure that inventory was always available for sale; oversaw the care, maintenance and use of the equipment necessary to handle and deliver materials. Led employees to successfully accomplish those tasks necessary to get the job done.

Successfully managed a building materials operation for a multi-state company consisting of 36 stores across the Southeastern U.S.; to include bottom line profit, personnel, procurement, sales, advertising, inventory control, delivery, account collection; management and maintenance of a 50,000 sq ft facility, supervision of over 100 permanent and temporary seasonal employees; walk-in and account holder contractors contributed to monthly sales in excess of one million dollars.

Served as Combat Arms Officer (Armor), commanded tank units at various levels, served several times as chief operations and training officer at various levels; Chief Logistical Officer at a major Army Installation with direct budget of approx $20 Million and Stock Fund of $74 Million, responsible for providing logistical support to active Army, US Army Reserve, National Guard, ROTC and other services on a geographic basis encompassing six states in NE, US, Directed all supply, maintenance, support services, transportation, procurement and contracting actions, Supervised 132 military and 635 civilian employees; Commanded a Field Operating Agency (FOA) and Managed Army's Contracting Out Program (OMB Cir A76, Commercial Activities) in the Office of The Chief of Staff, Army; served as Deputy for Programs and Installation Assistance, Assistant Secretary of The Army Office (Installations, Logistics & Environment) responsible for coordinating and representing the Assistant Secretary in PPBES matters, developing guidance and policy for the management and operation of Army installations, frequently interfaced as the Army voice with principals of the Congress, Office of Management and Budget, the Defense Staff, the Army Staff, and the private sector; Served as Team Chief of the Facilities/BASOPS Team for HQDA Project VANGUARD Task Force, chartered by the Secretary of the Armly for developing the DA plan to downsize the General Support Force (GSF) of the US Army.
