• Manage Manufacturing Engineers by establishing priorities to meet project deadlines.• Principal Engineer responsible for transferring a wavefront sensing aberrometer from R&D into Manufacturing.• Maintained working knowledge and provided support for a four spot IR tracking system developed for guided missile systems, which was adapted for use in a Refractive Eye Surgical system.• Troubleshoot optical assemblies with complex coatings designed for multiple wavelengths, (VIS, IR, UV) including: polarizing beam splitters, fold mirrors, lenses, hot mirrors, polarizers, penta-prisms, and microscopes.• Project Manager responsible for transferring the laser refurbishment process from the Cork, Ireland facility to Munich Germany and to the Orlando manufacturing facility.• Utilized a Zygo Interferometer, Perkin Elmer spectrophotometer, Nikon autocollimator and a Laser test bench to characterize and provide trend analysis on Excimer optics and lenses.

• Thesis included performing experiments utilizing a 3 kW CO2 laser to investigate surface alloying techniques on a molybdenum exhaust nozzle, used in a High Impulse Wind Tunnel. Experiments consisted of creating a molybdenum disilicide protective layer to prevent premature failure of the exhaust nozzle due to extreme heat conditions. Sponsored by Arnold Air Force Base, Tullahoma, Tennessee.• Responsibilities included post experiment metallurgical analysis of the microstructure of the modified area.• Conducted feasibility studies in bone cutting techniques for surgical applications utilizing a Rofin Sinar 3 kW CO2 laser, a TEA CO2 laser, and a Nd:YAG laser.• Wrote proposals to clients detailing bone cutting research.
