Port Controller
CurrentContribute to the achievement of production targets through coordinating the movements of equipment, monitor plant, responding to faults and adjust operating parameters in order to ensure production rates are optimised. Play a key role in identifying opportunities for improvement, capturing accurate delay data and escalating repetitive or extended delays. • Ensure conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.• An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.• Follows specific operating procedures and instructions.• Take responsibility to identify and find solutions to day to day problems in the work, and ensure any faults and/or breakdowns are reported immediately.• Instigate appropriate corrective action when a product non-conformance is identified.• Accurately completes documentation and data entry where required, including but not limited to Delay Accounting System data (DAS).• Actively participates in safety meetings and site safety programmes.• Actively participates in continuous improvement programmes.• Embrace the “Plant Owner” or “Operator Driven Reliability” concepts by taking ownership of the plant and driving both faults and potential faults to completion using the business processes.• This position will coordinate regularly with Port operations, Rail, Integrated Planning, Shipping and Maintenance in order to optimise production against plan.• Understand the logistics planning process and participate in positive/constructive feedback to the planning process and promote compliance to plan. • Coach and mentor Production Controllers in accordance with current operators training and operating guidelines training, with a goal of standardising operating practices• Be proactive in identifying improvement projects.
