Growth Projects currently in progress- Green Ammonia Project – New plant that will produce hydrogen from electrolysis of water. Hydrogen would replace Natural Gas as a raw material for Ammonia production as commitment to reducing carbon footprint. Project is currently in the Detail Design phase. Total investment is $120 million. Referenced in October 29, 2020 Corporate Press Release.- CO2 Capture – New piping, controls, compressors, and drying facilities to remove CO2 waste gas from ammonia plants. CO2 will be transported into sequestration facilities. Project has received Final Investment Decision and is currently in Detail Design phase.Recently completed growth projects- Nitric Acid for Industrial Sales – Installed new manufacturing facilities that increased Nitric Acid concentration at existing plant to produce 600 ktons annually. New facilities also included new 21.4 mbbl storage, truck, and rail loading facilities. Oversaw the Front-End Engineering, Detail Design, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Start-up. Total investment was $40 million.

    - Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) – Installed new facilities to produce Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) from Urea liquor. DEF reduces NOx of the exhaust from Diesel Engines. This facility produces DEF for approximately 15 trucks a day and 20 railcars a day which is sold commercially on the open market. Facilities include purification and mixing equipment, two DEF storage tanks, 32-ton refrigeration skid, and truck and rail loading facilities. Oversaw the Detail Design, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Start-up. Total investment was $38 million.- Projects for upgrades of major equipment associated with the synthesis and separation of Urea fertilizer. o Urea-2 Reactor and scrubber– Converts ammonium carbamate to Urea product. Total investment of $18 million. o Urea-4 Stripper – Removes CO2 and NH3 to ensure Urea meets product specification. Total investment of $10 million.o Urea-1 Condenser – Condenses ammonium carbamate prior to entering Urea-2 Reactor. Total investment of $10 million.o Urea-1 Ammonia pumps – Liquid ammonia is a raw material for urea synthesis. Existing pumps were upgraded to centrifugal pumps from positive displacement pumps. This reduced the risk of leaks and significantly improved reliability. Total investment of $10 million.o Nitric Acid Waste Heat Boiler – Integral step in the manufacturing of Urea Ammonium Nitrate fertilizer. Existing boiler was replaced because of temperature creep damage to several coils. Total investment of $5 million.- Project Management for infrastructure upgrades at the manufacturing facility which include the following: TWIC access facilities at the Docks; Urea-1 CO2 Separators; Nitric Acid Spare Expander Case; Monoblock valves for installation and flush of Nitrogen/Carbon meters at Urea plants; Firewater System and automatic firewater sprinkler upgrades at Ammonia #5; Purge facilities for Ammonia Railcars, and Revamp of existing mooring system on Mississippi River for product barges.

    - MSAT-2 Compliance Project - Installed facilities to allow Aromatics Units to process additional Reformate. This reduced the Average Annual Benzene Content of the Site Gasoline Pool to be compliant with the new MSAT-II regulation. This also allowed Chemicals to produce additional high-value products such as Mixed Xylenes. This project was managed from Final Investment Decision through Start-up and had a total investment of $20 million. - Interim Brugge and Crude C5 Feed Line Projects - Construction and modification of Pipeline and Treating facilities to remove CS2 from Isoprene product which allowed for an additional 30 Mlb/hr of feed to be processed at the Isoprene Recovery Unit (IRU). This project was managed from Identify Phase through Start-Up. Annual benefits were estimated to be $8 million.- Isoprene Analyzer Replacement Project - Developed Front-End and Engineering Design package. This project would replace 17 analyzers with new Gas Chromatographs. New infrastructure for instrument air, air dryers, sample systems, and new air-conditioned shelters were also included. These on-line analyzers are necessary to produce isoprene and meet quality standards.- Furnace Desuperheater Projects - This allowed the furnaces to process an average of 5 Mlb/hr of additional ethane, increase thermal cracking, and improve ethylene yields while staying within the superheated steam temperature design limit. Provided additional $1.03 million per year in ethylene yield.- Flare Monitoring Projects - EPA Compliance Projects included new equipment to 1) control the Net Heating Value of the flare gas and 2) optimize steam flow to ensure above 98% combustion efficiency.
