Robert Weintraub retired from IBM after 38 years, in order to serve as President of Bet Am Shalom Synagogue in White Plains, NY. Since then he has done pro bono consulting and volunteer work for non-profit organizations.He was the manager of an IBM organization responsible for the strategic skills of 6000 professionals.Just prior to this, he spent eight months in China, helping one of IBM's largest customers develop their senior leaders globally.Previously, he was responsible for learning strategy for IBM Global Services, determining strategic learning priorities, as well as learning methods and technologies, to support the organization’s business strategy, and planning for their implementation. Prior to that, Robert led the IBM Consulting Group's Performance & Competency Management consulting practice and held primary responsibility for its business success.Robert has consulted with over 50 organizations, in numerous industries -- focusing on performance analysis and learning strategies.Earlier in his career, Robert managed a segment of IBM sales training. During his two-year tenure, the program qualified over 5000 salespeople. In addition, Robert designed, developed and taught an education program for senior executives from large business, government, military and education organizations, that enabled them to gain greater strategic advantage from information technology.Robert was IBM's "Advocate" to the International Society for Performance Improvement. He was a member of ASTD’s Research to Practice committee, the advisory board for the University of Connecticut’s business school, and the North Salem, New York, school board. He also served as president of the Columbia University Teachers College Alumni Association. He has authored book chapters and journal articles and has been a speaker at numerous conferences. He received his doctorate in Adult Learning and Leadership from Teachers College and his MBA from NYU.
