While working in the Lifts Department it was my duty to inspect the integrity of these multi-million dollar pieces of equipment to ensure that they exceeded the standards of the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board. In addition to inspecting my lift, one of my chief duties was to provide the exceptional guest service which we were known for. By integrating the values of Vail Resorts into my daily duties I quickly earned an Employee of the Month award in a department of nearly one hundred people. I took pride in working the most difficult shifts on the mountain's main chairlift, the Centennial Express, at the base of the mountain. In addition to maintaining a fleet of mountain bikes and safety equipment, we were able to teach students about risk identification and safety, environmental stewardship, and most importantly, how to have fun and be active in nature.

    I helped a disabled elderly gentleman eat lunch on days when his family was engaged in work or travel. I would prepare and serve his meal, talk with him while he enjoyed it, and put everything in its place afterward. The critical task lay in ensuring that he consume the meal in its entirety and that he do so safely without choking. Another important part of my role was to report to his family, informing them of his wellbeing. In the event of his families extended absence for travel, I would stay in their home and provide such support for up to a week.
