Students were introduced to varied forms of ceramic construction, use of equipment, clay and glaze materials, firing techniques, material characteristics, theory and content specific to ceramic sculpture. Supervised, hired and trained full time staff, graduate and undergraduate assistants. Acted as primary instructional contact for both graduate and undergraduate students. Responsible for the development and implementation of all facility services including equipment acquisition, maintenance, supply inventories, equipment access and authorization, and safety policies and procedures. Planned and maintained the departmental operating budget and created proposals for capital funding. Directed the department’s annual long term planning process. Developed action plans to stimulate the ongoing technological and spatial improvement of the Ceramics Department.
