Mr. Whiteman is an enthusiastic, articulate and collaborative professional in healthcare and medical practice law, bioethics consulting, advocacy, business and education with a proven ability to design, develop and implement large scale projects independently. As a trial attorney, he has reviewed thousands of medical records for cases and has broad experience in seeking, developing and advocating solutions to complex case presentations as well as consulting and counseling diverse clients. His business expertise includes starting and managing a business services company in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia as well as being the founding partner and managing attorney of his own law firm. He has designed and taught courses as an adjunct professor at the university level and with the US Navy aboard forward deployed warships and has lectured at professional medical and legal conferences on a variety of issues.He has continued his pursuit of education and earned a Master of Science degree in Bioethics from Columbia University where he was very involved in complex end-of-life issues and clinical ethical consultations both academically and practically. While attending Columbia, he was also a teaching assistant in an undergraduate stem cell ethics course as well as in a graduate research ethics course and continues teaching at Columbia as the Managing Coordinator of the Bioethics Graduate Writing program for publication of papers in professional journals.He continues to pursue academic interests in research and publication and was invited to serve as a visiting scholar at the Yale-Hastings Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics. He also continues his more than 20 year involvement with clinical ethics consultations and currently serves on the ethics committees as a resource on clinical ethical consults and the providing of medical staff education at Phelps Memorial, White Plains and Lawrence Hospitals and the Westchester County Medical Society.
