Lead and manage the design process for large mill and kiln gears, pinions and foundry products adhering to the applicable industry standards such as AGMA, ASTM, DIN, ISO, ASME, ANSI and AWS. Design pinions, both through hardened and surface hardened (carburized). Design gears, both 2-part fabricated and up to 6-part cast gears. Also design solid and 2-part hub mounted hoist gears.Hold production meetings with multiple functions as new orders are placed.Review all work requirements, order specifications and quality documents with sales and the manufacturing engineers. Design parts to meet required gear set ratings per AGMA 6014-A06. Determine gear tooth geometry with tooth modifications to maximize tooth contact under load. Create quality documentation, ITP based on customer provided specifications. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness following order completion.Participate in Kaizan process improvement decisions by monitoring order process flow through the Engineering department to improve efficiency and on time delivery.
