As part of a fast-paced quotations team, I am responsible for technical content in the preparation of FACTS proposals focused on Synchronous Condenser and STATCOM product line opportunities. This entails interpreting customer specifications to create a conceptual design for the offering; preparing equipment specifications for obtaining cost estimates; preparing bid-specs for project execution including engineering services, construction (electrical, civil, building), and test & commissioning; evaluating contractor bids and vendor quotes; preparation of technical documents for submittal with bid package to customer.

Responsible for leading and coordinating all technical aspects of FACTS power equipment projects (focused on Synchronous Condenser and Fixed Series Capacitor). End-to-end project responsibilities and duties include the interpretation of client specifications; preparation of equipment studies and specifications; equipment procurement; preparation of project drawing packages (electrical, physical, mechanical, civil); preparation of site test procedures; site testing and project commissioning; site engineering support; client technical training; final documentation and close-out; client warranty support.

Led an initiative to enter the switchgear refurbishment space. This entailed setting up a service center; hiring and training service technicians; promoting the business to new and existing customers; planning and leading service activities for customer maintenance contracts.

Designed and built custom electrical apparatus in accordance with customer specifications. Products included protective relay panels/ systems, generator control panels and OEM switchgear. Primary functional duties included preparation of technical documentation for the manufacturing process and providing technical direction for designer and shop operations.

Prepared functional design documentation and drawings for MV/LV switchgear requisitions including bills of material, front view/ layout, electrical schematics, etc. Interfaced with customers, district sales and field service personnel to ensure an appropriate design and successful commissioning of the product.

Performed field services and installation of power delivery apparatus including transformers, circuit breakers/ switchgear, protective devices, and other typical substation apparatus.

Involved with electrical control panel design and manufacturing including fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing, design/drafting, and shop operations.
