Been involved with the coating industry since 1983. Started out at the bottom and knew that was not where I was going to stay. Watching and learning the old school way, you either worked or you weren't needed, to put it lightly. Learned from some of the best, and earned my way up. Met a man who was a NACE inspector, back in the 80's and he showed me there was something better in all this then just being the applicator. We always strived to be the best and now I wanted to be the one to assure it was done to meet that expectation.Was given an opportunity in the early 90's to get my NACE I, and a new learning experience was in the works. Met folks from all nations, and different wisdoms. Learned tons from each experience and have tried to remember it all. Went on to be in management both in production and QA. Been in charge of large projects as well as small projects. Been the salesman, estimator, scheduler, specification writer, and all aspects of the coating project. Another change in my life came, as a believer in Christ, that, one major change has help me be proficient in the way I conduct myself with the different calibers of folks, whether the helper or the owner. I know that I am not the "Albert Einstein" of the coating world, but I know I will give it my best and there is a whole lot of folks out here in this coating world that I or we can ask and get the answers we need.
