About Robert Wilson
I am an entrepreneur, retired Green Beret, and national security professional with over 27 years of experience serving in a broad range of assignments within the United States Army, special operations, the Department of Defense, and the White House. I have had considerable experience successfully leading diverse, high performing teams as they sought to achieve complex objectives in challenging environments. I founded an organic farm and agriculture innovation company in Woodbury Connecticut in 2018, the Acre of Independence. I have helped tech founders prepare pitch decks and business plans, and enabled them to raise $80 million (and counting) in seed funding. I am also a freelance writer, a wine maker, comic book geek, and hair metal fan.

During my tenure as Group Commander I deployed to combat and led the Group as the commander of Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force - Afghanistan. I also deployed with the Group as it serves as the nucleus of Special Operations Command (Forward) - North and West Africa which I also commanded. In Africa, I oversaw all special operations in North and West Africa designed to address the Islamic State, al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, and Boko Haram terrorist organizations. -
