My work is focused on restoring natural river processes, abundant fisheries, and biodiverse ecosystems in Idaho and throughout the Pacific Northwest. I strive to bring an interdisciplinary perspective to my work in river systems, integrating engineering with hydrology, geomorphology, ecology, geography, and history. I'm passionate about utilizing emerging tools and techniques both out in the field and in the office including process-based design methods, drones, remote sensing, 2D hydraulic modeling, GIS, CAD, and more. While restoring degraded riverscapes, my work is informed and inspired by natural fluvial and ecological processes. I often reflect on our industry's hypotheses about the nature of healthy rivers and landscapes, and I love working with collaborators and clients who challenge conventional wisdom and outdated approaches.
