About Roberta Biscan

After several years in the customer service industry I have shifted my focus to working with individuals with special needs. I am knowledgeable and well versed in the special education realm, various areas of mental health, and in health and human services. As a former family partner at Riverside Community Care I have provided support, mentoring and parent training to families raising children with emotional and/or behavioral challenges. As the current community engagement specialist I work within various communities meeting with providers, schools, law enforcement, and families to provide training and education on the CBHI supports offered through our CSA program. Additionally, I work on a case by case basis as an educational advocate. With my excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong written communication skills I have been successful in helping many families navigate through the red tape that comes with special education laws and supports. I am well versed in various state agencies such as The Department of Developmental Services and The Department of Mental Health and the programs offered. I have completed the parent training at The Federation For Children With Special Needs and continue to volunteer in their call center helping families in need. I have participated and completed many trainings and seminars related to special needs and health care issues. I offer a strong and knowledgeable voice in advocating for children and families alike. My lived experience makes me passionate and committed in helping in the advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
