Field Examiner
National Labor Relations Board
San Francisco
From January 1982-August 1982 and January 1983-June 1983, I worked as a Field Examiner under the government's Co-op program. What was supposed to be a one semester paid internship morphed into two semesters with an intervening semester of school. At the end of the program, I was offered a job, but elected to pursue work in the private sector. As a Field Examiner I investigated charges of unfair labor practices alleged by union employees as well as employers; took statements from witnesses, employees, and employers, researched case law, drafted reports of findings, and conducted representation hearings.
