I graduated high school with a qualification in foreign languages and business and immediately started working in the export department of a multinational corporation where I translated catalogues and technical manuals, and also interacted with clients and agents via email or phone as well as in international exhibitions. I have spent the next 23 years working office jobs in the export departments of 4 different companies, mainly focusing on translations and back office support which allowed me to use my language skills (English, German, Spanish). In 2003 I spent 9 months in Ireland where I worked in an office and then as a sales assistant.I am Italian native, speak and write fluent English (I earned a “Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English” by British Council in Milan), am fluent in Spanish and good in German (level B1, written and spoken). I attended a Russian language course for a year, which I unfortunately couldn’t continue due to personal reasons. I also own a French language course on DVD, which I am determined to complete soon.I love everything related to languages and books, I’ve always enjoyed writing long letters to pen friends around the world, I'm an avid reader and an author (under a pen name) of sweet contemporary romances in English. I also have a keen eye for typos and grammar mistakes – which led me to enroll in a proofreading course I am about to complete – and love to triple check what I write or translate to make sure everything is as good as it can possibly be.In 2020 I started Blooming Author Translations as a part-time business to help authors break into the Italian market. As of June 2023 I have worked on 13 books and am currently working on a new one.Over the last 10 years or so I’ve attended different courses both online and on-site on various subjects – see section for more details – and keep looking for new ones. I sure don’t like to let my brain idle!I built my own websites on WordPress; I have good knowledge of Microsoft Office; I enjoy creating graphics with Canva; lately I have been dabbling in social media marketing and Amazon ads, while I complete a couple of online courses I bought. I know how to create, format and upload books to Amazon, Kobo, Play Books, Draft to Digital, Smashwords; I use Scrivener software for my books and Vellum to format them.
