From 09/05/1998 to 14/09/2004 I worked as a Junior Assistant Purser with P&O Cruise Line on MV Royal Princess, TSS Sky Princess, MV Pacific Princess, MV Sun Princess, MV Sea Princess, MV Royal Princess, MV Star Princess, TSS Pacific Princess, MV Tahitian Princess.On board the vessels I covered different positions inside the Pursers' Department. I worked at the Front Desk, as a receptionist. The job included cash handling, mainly US dollars, the registration of credit cards and the payment of shipboard accounts. Also dealing with lost luggage, loss or damage reports, accident reports. Buying and selling foreign currency. Also, handling passengers' complaints and requests.I worked as an Assistant Night Manager, learning the onboard posting system and getting experience as responsible of the Accommodation Department for part of the night. I also worked in the Casino as a cashier, getting experience into handling cash.I worked in the Crew Office, dealing with joiners and leavers, passports, Customs and Immigration. I also covered the position of Hotel Secretary, using extensively the computer, mainly Excell, Word and Lotus Notes. My duties as Hotel Secretary included taking minutes of the various onboard meetings, held on a monthly basis, such as the Technical Meeting, the Onboard Revenue Meeting, the Safety Management Team Meeting, etc. I was responsible for arranging the distribution of the official and crew mail. Also, responsible for the tuxedo rental program. I had to prepare and distribute Group, Suite/VIP Welcome and Farewell letters. I was responsible for editing of the "C.R.U.I.S.E. News". I had to assist with Immigration Inspections and Tour Dispatch. I had to assist the Passenger Services Director with Crew Rounds and Galley Rounds. At the end of each cruise I was also responsible for collecting passenger questionnaires.
