Overseeing the movement of all facility inmates to and from the housing units, to work assignments, recreation, visiting, court, medical, programs and other activities.Ensuring the security and control of inmates in all housing areas of the correctional center.C. Maintain current status of staff and inmates assigned to special management housing units, those inmates who are potentially suicidal, inmates with medical problems and/or mental instabilities and high risk inmates.1. Perform on-the-job evaluations of deputies assigned to special management housing units. Any deputy who is unable to effectively manage inmates within a special management housing unit will be promptly removed until additional training and counseling have been completed.2. All assignment’s/rotations of special management housing units are conducted/evaluated by the Correctional Sergeant3. Review and approve submitted reports and log entries.D. Overseeing inmate disciplinary action.E. Reviewing, supervising, and investigating all assaults and unusual occurrences in the correctional center. Conduct and document unannounced rounds to identify and deter staff sexual abuse and sexual harassment. F. Scheduling correctional staff to security posts, ensuring proper coverage,and overseeing all requests for leave and FMLA.G. Addressing all personnel matters that arise, taking appropriate action, and making appropriate referrals, as necessary. Submit paperwork via the Chain of Command.H. Conducting evaluations of personnel under their direct supervision.I. Notifying and consulting with the Correctional Lieutenant regarding any inmate, security, or personnel problems.J. Reviewing all reports submitted by staff under their supervision and taking corrective action as needed.K. Ensuring that the sanitary condition of the correctional center meets the required Department of Corrections standards by conducting daily inspections.

Perform general law enforcement duties to include responding to calls, assisting with the apprehension of suspects or inmates, conducting searches for contraband, ensuring the proper handling of evidence; demonstrate knowledge of City Government policies, procedures, guidelines and directives pertaining to criminal justice (i.e. escapes, disturbances, fire plans and other emergencies), monitor inmates in housing unit; perform searches of person, subdue resisting subjects using hands and feet while employing defensive tactic maneuvers, or approved non lethal weapons, comply with facility safety rules, ensure work assignment of inmates and other assigned personnel are performed in a safe manner and without injury to self or others, communicate verbally and effectively by listening to people and by giving information, directions and commands.

Responsible for addressing all issues of safeness, theft and fraud to ensure fun and friendly experience for guests and team members, act as visible presence in store entrance with responsibility of scanning customers for theft and fraud, participated in team meeting discussing topics of store safeness, theft, and fraud, aggressively addressed all issues of safeness, theft and fraud to deliver a fast, fun and friendly experience for the Target guests; apprehended subjects for retail theft; used various systems to help monitor fraudulent activity including financial fraud and merchandise theft; supported store safety and the reduction of merchandise shortage; built strong partnerships with law enforcement and community agencies.
