Charged with leading the Rutgers Alumni Engagement team through the final year of a three-year strategic plan, with a focus on reimagining engagement for Rutgers' future. Created a combined alumni and donor events team and launched new strategic staffing structure and responsibilities to support four Chancellor-led Universities via liaison roles. Other key successful developments include educating a legacy staff on the Advancement model and assisting them in seeing their role in Campaign fundraising and pipeline development, overseeing the creation and launch of targeted strategic plans for three Chancellor-led Universities, leading a volunteer engagement team with oversight of approximately 100 chartered alumni groups, auditing and enhancing publications designed to encourage involvement and steward alumni, and assessing existing engagement metrics and recommending future best use applications. Management of a direct team of 30 and embedded alumni relations officers in 33 schools across Rutgers system. Strong collaboration with AVP of Annual Giving and AVP of Strategic Communications. Creating recommendations regarding life stages engagement, digital engagement, and in the realm of DE&I programming, all to inform next strategic plan, based on benchmarking and volunteer strikeforce input.

In addition to oversight in Sr. Director position, as AVP I acquired leadership roles on the Warming Prospects Initiative, Alumni Engagement Metric Committee, Foundation Strategic Plan Committee, Regional Strategic Plan, Events Task Force, and Presidential Transition Plan, amongst others. Led the creation of An Evening With, an event series for targeted high-end donors and prospects. Responsible for Foundation staff training with regard to how the endowment functions, naming policies, the lifecycle of a gift, receipting, compliance, alumni engagement metric, and more. Served as liaison to the University Investment Office, and responsible for creating internal and external digested resources on how the endowment works.

As Senior Director, responsible for defining and developing overall stewardship and donor relations strategy and policy for the entire Rutgers University system, including four Chancellor-led Universities, and with oversight of three teams (a total staff of eighteen and an intern): Development Events, Stewardship Accountability, and Stewardship Recognition. In addition to a host of other tasks, the three groups handle the following: Development Events oversees Presidential signature events, as well as all stewardship and cultivation events for Rutgers University Foundation, ranging in size from intimate scholarship luncheons to Momentum, an annual celebration that brings over 300 generous alumni, volunteers, and donors to campus to recognize the forward movement and forward thinking of the University. In 2016, we had the privilege of planning and executing both the VIP reception for President Barack Obama's commencement speech at Rutgers and the 250th Anniversary Reception and Dinner celebrating Rutgers' Charter Day.Stewardship Accountability has responsibility for gift agreements, scholarship announcements, endowment reports (narrative and financial), receipts, pledge reminders, policies and guidelines.Stewardship Recognition handles individualized stewardship plans, Milestone Influence Reports, Milestone congratulations, AG Impact Reports, acknowledgement letters, print and online donor recognitions (such as the Reverse Honor Roll), plaques, Red Letter Days, video thank you messages, and societies.

As the Senior Associate Director of Stewardship at Princeton University, I reported directly to the Assistant Vice President for Development. Responsibilities included managing a staff of six stewardship professionals and eight capital leadership committee stewardship volunteers; overseeing production of Princeton University’s first-ever Online Honor Roll acknowledging over 65,000 donors (including more than 77% of all undergraduate alumni) and 8,300 volunteers during ASPIRE campaign; directing systematic stewardship programs for Scholarships, Fellowships, Freshman Seminars, Professorships, Preceptorships and other fund types (totaling 4,080 endowed funds); creating and implementing gift agreement internal stewardship protocol, best practices manual, post mortem bequest protocol, department thank you protocol (TAP), facility dedication and anniversary plans, as well as other policies and procedures; creating, implementing, and directing the department liaison program; collaborating with development events and development communications teams in creating tailored events (on a small and large scale) and stewardship recognition pieces for donors and volunteers, including video messaging, photo books, prints, etc.; overseeing production of stewardship publications, including 25th and 50th Reunion Reports, and stewardship stories for University website; and serving as a resource for campus partners and development front line in stewarding Princeton’s principal gifts and leadership donors.
