The Studio and Forum of Scenic Arts is a three year vocational school, located in the beautiful Hudson Valley, dedicated to teaching students the skills needed to work as a professional Scenic Artist in film or theatre. The curriculum is based on traditional scene painting techniques which have remained a constant in the craft over the years. All of the teachers at the school are working members of USA Local 829.

Since 1994, Scenic Art Studios has been producing scenery for some of Broadway's best-loved shows, including Beauty and the Beast, Hairspray, Spam-a-lot, The Producers and Shrek, The Musical. More recently, Mary Poppins, Book of Mormon, Beautiful and Hedwig & the Angry Inch have joined the line up.Owned and operated by scenic artist Joseph Forbes, SAS has a reputation for artistic excellence. The shop employs some of the finest artists from United Scenic Artist Local 829 and has worked with the industry's leading designers. In addition to our Broadway work, we've also created permanent installations at venues ranging from Comerica Park (home of the Detroit Tigers) to Mohegan Sun (casino and resort). Other commissions include a float for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Christmas windows for Sacks Fifth Avenue.
