Golden Gate Opera presents April 30, 2017 the exciting West Coast premiere of a Bullying Prevention opera for young people, “The Boy Who Grew Too Fast” by two-time Pulitzer-prize winner, Gian Carlo Menotti; Performances are at Marin Civic Center’s Marin Showcase Theatre in San Rafael, CA. Conductor is Dr. Brian Asher Alhadeff, Artistic Dir. of Opera San Luis Obispo. Stage Director is Edna Garabedian, Artistic Dir. of California Opera Association in Fresno. In April prior to the performances Golden Gate Opera bring our Anti-Bullying opera program to local school children right in their classrooms. Winner of 2016 NEA ARTWORKS award, Golden Gate Opera premiered “LINCOLN-The African American Connection” by Mill Valley’s Cepelak and Rose. Starring Gabriel Manro as President Lincoln, the cast of 5 soloists and Gospel Choir is ready to tour to universities, high schools and other theatres. Let us know if you would like information.
