The National Dean for Teaching and Learning provides leadership, direction and oversight for the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE). The CTE fosters a culture of commitment to excellence in teaching and to creating educational environments to support the learning of a diverse student population. The CTE’s mission includes the development and implementation of effective teaching and learning strategies and assessment that reflect the university’s academic philosophy and instructional model. Specifics include oversight of special programs that support student learning, faculty orientation, faculty evaluation and review techniques, instructional resources, and applied technologies. In addition, the National Dean will manage faculty as assigned and provide leadership and support for chief academicians at campuses and centers as it relates to academic and instructional quality.

Monitors local student persistence and oversees/coordinates improvement initiatives. Interfaces with department of enrollment management and local area marketing to assist in outreach opportunities and to provide training and information on programs.

The role of Director of Education is to manage all aspects of campus academic operations, which include: faculty staffing, training, scheduling, provide faculty development, collaborate with Program Managers, Tech Support, Student Services and other DOEs to provide quality and consistent delivery of services and programs.
