I am passionate about projects that enable me to use my creativity to come up with solutions. Utilizing software to help solve problems in areas such as machine design, 3D drafting, and finite element analysis (FEA) has allowed me to gain experience in:• Control systems using LabVIEW as a SCADA to control tank water levels and an autonomous robotic car race.• PLC’s, conveyors, ladder logic programming, and data acquisition using PI systems.• MatLab and Simulink to simulate a 6-axis robotic arm and determine its limitations. • Solidworks to design and laser cut a wind turbine for a wind powered water pump.I pride myself on being a team player and assist others in any way, even if it is outside of my present role. I use my knowledge in Microsoft Office/Excel to help co-workers with functions and generating automated reports (Vlookup). Some examples of this include:• Created a 60-page workbook for Johnson Controls Inc. detailing every process in the coils department, differentiated which parts need specific processes (based on product type, size, etc.) and included equations that I developed to generate average build times based on part numbers.• Developed a program in Excel for Johnson Controls that generated total build times for orders. The older predicted times were extremely inaccurate, so I created this to immediately help the manufacturing engineers make scheduling times for jobs while the new times were still being uploaded into the new system.• While working for Mosaic as a reliability engineering intern, I created a program in Excel that tracked work orders by asset number and determined failure methods from keywords in descriptions. The program calculated the mean time between failure and alerted users when assets had exceeded that time so they could be checked or studied. From this data collected, engineers would see a history of an asset to help find any anomalies. Using this program, a level indicator switch that had failed multiple times and caused an overflow of process chemicals was found and a backup sensor was installed to prevent future overflows.
