About Robert Kuhns

Experienced general counsel and legal adviser to senior leadership teams and corporate directors, implementing effective corporate governance and strategic domestic and international growth initiatives. I have over 25 years of experience both in-house as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary and in private practice representing public and private companies in a broad variety of corporate and commercial transactions, governance and compliance matters. While in private practice, primarily in the Twin Cities, I worked closely with business clients and their leadership teams through various stages of growth, including business formation, financing (public and private), mergers and acquisitions, and exit transactions, as well as advising on day-to-day legal and other strategic issues.My experience, practical business orientation and skills translate well into the in-house legal environment where, as a member of the executive leadership team, I’ve advised management and the Board of a growing NYSE-listed corporation with over $2 billion in annual revenue. My responsibilities have included oversight of the legal department and support of strategic corporate goals, including managing legal aspects of all corporate and securities matters, public company reporting and stock exchange filings. While CLO, I completed 17 acquisitions with aggregate value of $268m, including global expansion into Canada and Italy. Also served as Corporate Secretary, advising the Board on all governance matters.Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP). State bar admissions include MN, CA, TX. I earned my MBA and BBA from the Univ. of Notre Dame and my JD from the Univ. of Texas School of Law.
