Profile bio

About Robert Albero Gallego

I am a senior researcher in cancer translational oncology, holding an independent position at Fundació Clinic-IDIBAPS. During my 12 years of experience, I am committed to identify genetic and transcriptomic biomarkers that refine patient stratification and connect disease subtypes with personalized therapies. I have implemented in silico and in vitro assays to investigate clinically relevant samples (Real World, clinical trial samples, disease mouse models) using advanced molecular profiling (genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics) and functional characterization. Currently, I coordinate a medium-sized interdisciplinary team, where I apply my team management skills. My projects often involve troubleshooting and extensive collaboration, including active national and international partnerships with institutions such as MD Anderson, Columbia University and Hospital Clinic of Barcelona. In addition, I mentor students in the MSc program in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, demonstrating my commitment to shaping the next generation of professionals and contributing to advancements in precision medicine strategies.

This tool adheres to FAIR principles of accessibility and data standardization.2. Advanced Data Integration and Single-Cell Analysis:• Single-cell transcriptomic analysis of a large-scale non-Hodgkin lymphoma clinical cohort to uncover the mechanisms behind different clinical behaviours, including relapse and drug resistance. Importantly, some of the samples being analyzed are part of the clinical trial IMCL-2015. Supported by the Pre-Clinical & Retrospective Translational AstraZeneca Research Project, led by Pr. Elias Campo (AstraZeneca USA). Show less
