My professional career is devoted to getting technology, particularly robotics, to work for us. Most recently I was a product manager at Blue River Technology, the computer vision and machine learning subsidiary of John Deere. Prior to that, I was the CEO of TerrAvion. TerrAvion was dedicated to taking the organization and technology of networked aircraft and applying them to serve agriculture. TerrAvion was the largest volume provider of overnight imagery in agriculture in the US and Brazil from 2017-2020, this imagery was used for classical and CV/ML analytics by our team and our partners.When I went to graduate school at Carnegie Mellon, I studied the problems of managing and financing robotics companies, interned at robotics companies, and founded an AUVSI chapter. For more on this see my blog robocosmist.com. Prior to graduate school, I worked for Deloitte helping the Navy develop unmanned boats and Deloitte develop an unmanned systems practice. In the Army, I led the first Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle platoon in Afghanistan.
