As the Assistant CIO for Enterprise Systems and Services at East Tennessee State University, I lead a dynamic team overseeing the university's ERP (Banner) implementation and ancillary systems. Managing a group of six Software Engineers and two DevOps Engineers, we ensure seamless support and optimization.Since joining ETSU in June 2017 as an Analyst 3, later becoming a Senior Software Engineer, I collaborated closely with key stakeholders in the Business and Finance Division, Registrar's Office, Bursar, and more. My responsibilities included user/system support, development of integrations, troubleshooting, and coordinating user testing for Banner Finance and Student modules. Proficient in PL/SQL, Ruby, Bash scripting, and C#, I played a vital role in modifying Banner baseline code for university-specific needs.Progressing to DevOps Engineer and Senior DevOps Architect in 2020, I took charge of monitoring, maintenance, and support for ETSU's AWS-based production and development environments. This encompassed patching, upgrading, system monitoring, troubleshooting, recovery planning, and infrastructure spend management.My career journey began at Northeast State Technical Community College as a Programmer, and I've since garnered valuable experience in the Pharmaceutical, Consulting, and Telecom industries. My decision to return to higher education at ETSU in 2017 stems from my passion for serving the community and contributing to individuals' growth and betterment.
