Dr Armitage completed a BSC in exercise physiology and a MSC in comparative anatomy at the University of Calgary before entering the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College CMCC in Toronto, where he completed his Doctor of Chiropractic in 1986. Dr Armitage was in private practice in Toronto for 5 years as well as being a part-time faculty member of the Anatomy and Orthopaedics departments at CMCC. Since 19990, he has maintained a private practice in Vancouver BC. Dr Armitage completed a 4 year post graduate fellowship in sports injuries and rehabilitation through the college of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada) in 1996. Since that time, he has worked with athletes at all levels, from recreational to professional. Dr. Armitage was team chiropractor for the Vancouver Grizzlies of the NBA from 1996-2001, organizer and chief chiropractor for the World Figure skating Championship in 2001 and a member of the Board of Directors for SPortsMedBC from 2002- 2006. Since 2007 Dr. Armitage has been the BC regional coordinator of the Residency program in the College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences. In April 2009 Dr. Armitage will be the keynote speaker at the World Federation of Chiropractics Biennial Congress in Montreal.Specialties: Dr Armitage pracrtices primary care sports chiropractic in Kitsilano and has the honor of having being appointed Manger of Chiropractic Services of the Host Medical Team for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
