As a Building Project Engineer at the department Sites & Buildings of truck manufacturer DAF you are a consultant and project manager regarding the realisation of construction and infrastructure projects at the plants of Eindhoven, Westerlo and Sint Oedenrode.An outline of my project portfolio in chronological order:Building project manager for the renovation of the security control room.Multi-year roof renovation plan.Building project manager for hanging a 14-meter-long condenser between two buildings.Senior project manager in adapting the foundation of the existing 1,800 ton press.Senior project manager building modifications for the replacement of the cabin supply installation, partly exectuted during production.Senior project manager for the realization of two lift bridges in the production line with an execution time of 12 days.Various projects are currently still in the concept, design or implementation phase and therefore cannot be named yet. This includes renovation, transformation and expansion plans and a lot of research into fire protection recently, because of the rising amount of lithium-ion vehicles on the premises.

Operational and financial management during a merger and acquisition project. After my studies I joined Holland Engineering. This is a small construction / engineering firm specialised in shop fitting and bulletproof security in the retail and petrol business. The Holland Engineering team is a group of professionals with versatile backgrounds.As Project Manager Retail I lead the projects in the construction and security of offices, petrol stations and shops in the Benelux. Because of the relative small size of the company I have business management and commercial tasks in acquisition, administration, purchasing, marketing and personnel. I am also appointed as safety coordinator.In my job I manage the projects of Holland Engineering from the start up to the completion. At the start of a project I analyse the feasibility with the client, than I am responsible for the quotation. In most projects, Holland Engineering works as the main contractor, which means that in addition to its own staff also subcontractors and suppliers should be controlled well. After the contract award I take care of the work preparation and planning. During the construction phase I control the costs, quality, planning and architectural appearance with the client and architect. After completion of the project I am the contact person for the customer to solve problems arising during operation.

My internship consisted of approximately four days working on my thesis research and one day on the 'Wonen in het Groen' project of DHV and two development studies for health institutions. These three projects concerned public and private parties with divergent points of view. At these projects I worked as assistant project manager, in which I assisted my internship supervisor in guiding the project and maintaining customer contacts.

In 1997 I joined the student company Ritzen Koeriers as a courier and driver. After one year I was asked to take over the management of the Rotterdam region. In this job I was responsible for customer relations, acquisition and I was the link between the couriers and the directors. In the following three years I have contributed to new establishments in Delft and The Hague and a doubling of sales.
