Rob Zeko is an experienced fund manager, investor, board member, and advisor to a number of early stage fast paced growth companies. Rob has a track record of successfully identifying companies in their infancy and taking them from concept to commercial viability on a global scale. Having built a career foundation in corporate development, sales, and marketing at large media conglomerates Viacom/CBS, Conde Nast, and United Talent Agency, Rob had the opportunity to go and build out the Lachlan Murdoch backed Unlockd as their Global SVP of Business & Corporate Development. Growing that business across four continents and multiple capital raises paved the way for Rob to start Place Capital. As Co-Founder and General Partner, Rob raised a global venture capital fund that deployed over $50M in multiple Seed, Series A, and growth opportunities in software technology businesses across an array of verticals including finance, entertainment, media, real estate/construction, and sport. With an active management model, Rob was able to successfully support the growth of their portfolio companies globally and create significant value for the fund’s LPs. After Place, Rob became a founding member and Chief Operating Officer of REQpay, a construction fintech business that created software to streamline the financial workflow for construction processes. He successfully raised their Seed Round of funding and was responsible for putting together a best-in-class group of investors, advisors, and board of directors. At REQpay, Rob grew the business from concept to launch and directly contributed to every aspect of the company's growth. Most recently, Rob advised Recast on their Series A capital raise and international expansion strategy, which evolved into his role as Chief Commercial Officer. At Recast he was responsible for driving overall value creation via revenue generation, corporate development, and overarching business strategy.Rob has since invested in and founded another venture called Quidkey. Quidkey has created embedded finance technology that enables financial institutions to distribute payment products directly to their customers. The business closed an initial $1m Seed round of funding in October 2023 and will officially launch in 2024. During his career, Rob has led and delivered on multiple private capital raises (Seed, Series A, Series B), ranging from $1M-$50M and driven the combination of a listed global sports technology business that was sold to Quadrant Private Equity for more than $450M.
