After a childhood sailing dinghies, I joined the Royal Navy as a marine engineering apprentice. After 2½ years I left to join Ancasta Yacht Brokerage where I worked for 5 years often delivering yachts that I sold, up and down the English Channel and around the Med. With the arrival of children, I moved into the corporate world working in the Finance and IT sector in IT Sales, Project Management and Senior Management roles managing high performance teams of up to 200 people across a variety of disciplines. In 2023, with my youngest child reaching 18, I “left home” and rowed the Indian Ocean becoming the first, and currently the only person to have rowed non-stop and unassisted from mainland Australia to mainland Africa. On my return from my ocean row, I decided to return to a career on the ocean sailing wherever and whenever the opportunity arises.
