+ Stood up and led a brand-new team of ~10 engineers, primarily new hire graduates. Established team structure, training, software development processes, engineering practices & ceremonies including Jira (Kanban) projects. Built a team capable of delivering complex projects and owning critical systems.+ Worked with engineers on personal and career growth via weekly 1 to 1’s, coaching, goal setting, skill assessments, and delegating responsibilities. Resulting in a team of highly capable engineers and achieving multiple promotions.+ Responsible for mission critical systems including a cloud based distributed log analysis and support system. Worked with stakeholders and the team to make valuable improvements to stability, performance, functionality and substantially reduce cloud infrastructure costs.+ Responsible for managing the delivery of projects. Worked to enable and guide engineers through the full development lifecycle. Co-ordinated with other departments to setup projects, overseeing development and providing leadership updates. Projects include: - A new internal web-based management system for Capella, Couchbase’s managed cloud database, continuously updated to support new Couchbase features. The system is used across the company and is critical to the smooth running of Capella. - Observability dashboards for Capella database clusters, providing deep performance data to engineers, for faster resolution of customer issues.+ Product management - setting priorities, backlog management, working with stakeholders to identify/prioritise requirements, working to enable / coach the team on project management and prioritisation.+ Responsible for making promotion recommendations, facilitating multiple promotions.+ Organised intern placements, ensuring interns got the most out of their placements.+ Part of the Manchester office leadership team, working on initiatives to improve office moral
