When I came to work at Self-Help Enterprises (a non-profit housing and community development organization) in 1998, I carried the same attitude of serving others into everything I did. I started out as an Administrative Analyst in the Housing Rehabilitation program but knew right away that I wanted to become their next computer expert. In 2000, I was given the opportunity to work in our IT department. I have the wonderful opportunity of doing something I love, assisting a fantastic group of people all seeking to help low income families improve their living conditions in California's central valley. Create, implements and maintain policies and goals that support the organization's needs and mission. * Maintain network security, reliability, backup, and high availability of our data. Ensures proper functioning of the information processing system and oversees necessary upgrades. * Helps organization program staff to utilize information systems to improve their efficiency. *Manage and train "Help Desk" staff to assure continued, positive, responsive, and effective support is provided to all SHE staff.*Ensures computer equipment, hardware, and software are updated to meet organizational needs and assure that documentation is accurate and up-to-date.*Serve as Technology Project Manager: Research new technologies, obtain quotes from vendors, negotiate purchases, service, and other contracts. Also, work with specialized consultants as needed to implement new technologies to further our mission.*Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to top management.
