This position included overall responsibility for the development, implementation, and documentation of the Multiflex QMS for electro-hydraulic umbilical manufacturing and testing. This position operated at the strategic level in designing a world class quality system and organization. This position involved directly leading the successful creation and implementation of procedures, standards, and training to enable the company to attain and maintain ISO 9000 Certification both in the Texas and Florida facilities. Established the first electronic maintenance of non-conformances at Oceaneering Intl, with root cause/corrective action analysis. Developed and implemented effective process control systems and procedures, visual aids and data collection systems.Developed and communicated a quality statement, vision, and goals which were aligned with customer requirements and the company’s culture of continuous improvement. Supported the vision with resources and a Quality Department which was designed, motivated and trained to implement the strategies needed to support a world-class quality function. Promoted a culture of empowerment and team building, both within the quality department and between peer groups such as operations, engineering, and sales.Developed and initiated a new program for assembling quality assurance “As Built” data manuals, which reduced the average release time of these manuals from two months to three days. Assigned a project for standardizing all work instructions for the umbilical group worldwide.Developed and documented a plan for joining two-inch super duplex tubing to include welding, inspection, and storage at the Panama City facility for Exxon. I worked with OII high risk suppliers to improve on time delivery and reducing non-conformance after delivery. Utilized advanced tools to facilitate improvements such as CTQ, CTP, and levels of controls to evaluate processes and develop improvements.

Full responsibility for writing, implementing, and monitoring the Quality Assuance Plan for welding fabrication (structural and piping) ,extensive research and development of certified vendors for purchase of various large components for turbine packages. Supervision of Quality Control Weld inspectors as well as supervision of all Quality Assurance Audits to insure vendor capability and compliance of specifications and standards for two company divisions. Extensive research and interface with Engineering and vendors to reduce costs and fabrication time on a variety of high tech components. Job records, operations, administration of project to a successful completion with contractural agreement. Responsible for vendor inspections, and witnessing at vendor facilities, as well as review of vendor tests to assure that purchase order and contractual requirements are met. Complete responsibility for welders qualifications and quality standards of welding on diesel and turbine generator sets, airline tow tractors and assorted other heavy fabrication and vendor and shop fabrication, documentation, certification, specification, and contract review in accordance with MiL-Q-9858A program and the first edition of ISO 9001. I also performed extensive work with Stewart & Stevensons Purchasing Department, finding and developing vendors for various large components for turbine packages.I conducted Quality Audits to insure that vendors are in compliance with the various specifications and standards required both at the Turbine Division and at the Harrisburg facilityAudits included verification of suppliers to Nuclear standards and Military standards
