Founder of Got To Get Out, a social enterprise adventure group (domestic tourism), with a mission / kaupapa to get our community outdoors, active, healthy and connected.The purpose of this socially good business is to improve the physical and mental health and wellness stats in Aotearoa, by bringing people together via the outdoors.Got To Get Out has won "Best in Community Contribution" at the Westpac Business Awards, and finalist in Best Emerging Business. Today I am the founder of Got To Get Out. Prior to Got To Get Out, I founded an innovative experiential marketing / brand activation agency SublimeNZ which was later acquired by Australasia's largest and most awarded communications agency PPR, part of the WPP global network of leading agencies. I was appointed GM - Experiential Marketing.SublimeNZ was ranked one of the fastest growing companies in New Zealand at the Deloitte Fast 50 awards (2012) After PPR, I was Director of Special Initiatives (ex Director of Advancement) at AUT University in Auckland, NZ. This role was to 'advance' a range of special initiatives that included work on international and domestic internships, student employability, mentoring, notable alumni engagement, and other projects. This was on the Corporate Governance and Development Group reporting to Assistant Vice Chancellor.

    Got To Get Out (https://www.facebook.com/gottogetout) is a social enterprise designed to encourage people to get outdoors, be active, and make new friends.The social element of the organisation is the mission that is the primary driver: to enhance the health and wellness of those who take part, and those who are part of our community.The idea back in 2015 was simple: we arrange awesome weekend adventures in the Auckland region that are social, active, outdoors-based and healthy. At the time there was a real demand for people - especially those working full time in an office - to 'get out there' and do something more exciting on the weekend. Since then we have hosted hundreds of outdoot domestic tourism type adventures around New Zealand including climbing mountains, mountainbiking, paddle boarding, sailing, surfing, hiking and kayaking.I launched Got To Get Out while personally travelling to the Mt Everest Base Camp in Nepal: I decided my purpose in life was to encourage others to get out and be active.

This sponsorship / collaboration involved hosting over 150 outdoor (or indoors) events such as hikes, bike rides and paddle-board events. These events were usually free for people to attend.This project was a superb example of social enterprise and business partnering for a socially-good outcome.

I also help to secure internships in NZ and the US and Canada via a NZ-first program called www.internz.aut.ac.nz which matches students to internships. Finally, I was involved in projects to engage with notable alumni both locally and abroad. Events I helped to develop then manage included employability workshops like 'Match Ready', and I was part of the AUT Mentoring program. I travelled to the US and Canada to meet with alumni and open up internship opportunities with some of the biggest companies in the US.
