This position involves leading the process attendant team to achieve and maintain strict hygiene and explosive dust standards. Other tasks included involvement in managing the site's HSE/HACCP, chemical stock management, continuous improvement, and scoping both minor/major capital projects. Secondary to the role I also became involved in managing/maintaining the site’s MES.

This position involves a combination of both set and variable tasks. Tasks are focussed primarily around management of site services and providing technical assistance to factory operations as part of the production team. Six month full time placement as part of my BE/ME (Chemical). My project was to deliver standard operating procedures for the bagasse fired boilers. This involved standardising and optimising practices across all Mackay Sugar sites. It was essential to maintain high levels of communication and cooperation with the plant operators and various other sectors within Mackay Sugar.

Project for the Centre for Coal Seam Gas within The University of Queensland. Part of a team investigating the possibility of using bentonite (swelling clay) to plug and abandon coal seam gas wells. Involved hands on labwork, problem solving and data analysis.
