Managed the IT Analytics Services group at SFHP, providing reporting capabilities to internal and external stakeholders. Implemented MicroStrategy as the BI tool for the SFHP Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Implemented Business Intelligence capabilities through program management of data warehousing projects. Delivered large scale, complex and cross functional BI/DW project with interdependent IT and business activities. Led turn-around of an in-flight, over-budget effort to retire outdated data marts. Reigning in spend at $7M, collaborated with the CFO, CIO and Chief Actuary to steer the project to successful completion, resulting in a new environment aligned with the executive strategy of cultivating BI and DW capabilities in-house.Led the creation of project charters, requirements documentation, resource plans and cost estimates, resulting in $5M funding approved for the next fiscal year.Worked with other BI and IT directors to embrace a sustainable project status reporting process across the BI and IT functions. Success stories include:Created swat teams to tackle high-priority data quality issues for an SAP implementation in jeopardy of a no-go decision for 13 nuclear reactor sites in the UK. In 3 months, prioritized and managed data cleansing activities to enable an on schedule go-live. Executed cut-over of all sites to a single instance of SAP with zero downtime.Developed process for consolidating global customer base following PeopleSoft's acquisition of JD Edwards. Managed application development for MTV Networks music channels. Scope included project budgeting; requirements analysis; process flow reviews; system design, testing, and implementation; database architecture; documentation; disaster recovery; and Y2K remediation. Leader in upgrading technology capabilities to enable launch of 5 additional music channels (expanding the MTV and VH1 brands) with only 2 additional staff, by creating a procurement tool for music video inventories, recognized by Infoworld magazine as one of top 10 systems developed by enterprise IT.

Engineered financial systems distributed throughout North American refineries to analyze the impact of engineering projects on the plants’ bottom line. Served as team lead on several software development projects. Part of the team that pioneered a strategy to transition systems projects from strict cost containment to value-chain economics. Included facilitating collaborations between refinery financial analysts and engineers for projects. Brought in by development team to identify deadlocks delaying delivery of a new SQL-based system. Led the team in clearing deadlock issues within 1 week for successful system delivery, salvaging reputation of the IT group. Key member of a software development team tasked with creating financial, engineering, and process control applications used by headquarters, offshore platforms, and all refineries across North America.
