* Root Cause Analysis using Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy (2010 - 2019) --Resolved hundreds of field failures and product validation issues, and performed several competitive benchmarking studies, using SEM and optical microscopy.* Six Sigma BB for Manufacturing Engineering (2001 - 2010) --Worked with process improvement teams as leader, coach, and team member to improve quality performance. Supported primarily manufacturing and manufacturing engineering, but also product design, finance, and IT. * Numerical and Statistical Problem Solving (till present) --I love to solve "hard" math problems! My co-workers often present me with "diversions" (a.k.a. special projects) to keep me happy. Some examples of algorithms I've worked out for my company:- find the optimal "family" of part configurations to minimize injection mold tooling cost;- translate print dimensions into machine coordinates for electrical conduit bending;- allow a machine vision system to determine the orientation of small parts;- find bottlenecks in electronics assembly process, using statistical simulation;- as well as others. * Global Quality Systems and Deployment of Six Sigma (prior to 2001) --Conducted DOE and other quality-based studies (Gage R&R, FMEA, etc.) for several teams, mostly in manufacturing and manufacturing engineering, and developed various analytical tools for product and process improvement. Developed and delivered training in U.S., Asia, and Mexico, in Six Sigma, FMEA, Gage R&R, SPC, problem solving, and DOE. Key member in divisional deployment of Six Sigma and DFSS to executives and engineers.
