Forecasting:• Providing group guidance to the business units on their budget submission relating to exchange rates, accounting policies and intercompany loans and trading.• Maintaining the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system and using it to load, consolidate and retrieve financial information.• Designing and building of HFM reports to be used for budget reviews.• Reviewing the budget with the respective Planning Leads.• Development of an intercompany reconciliation model.• Consolidation and preparation of management packs.Month end reporting:• Tracking and analysis of business unit and company performance vs. budget inc. P+L, cash flow and CAPEX.• Working with business units to provide guidance on loading revenue and customer numbers to HFM in order for group to produce Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) analysis.• Monthly business performance reviews with the local finance teams.• Collation, review and presentation of business wide risks and opportunities.• Explanation of variances to directors and executive members.Executive Balanced Scorecard:• Incorporating feedback from the Executive Directors and liaising with reporting teams to design and produce a balanced scorecard for the Executive Board.• Presenting the balanced scorecard at the annual finance managers conference • Challenging and interrogating variances vs. budget and explaining any variances to directors and Executive members.Three Year Plan and Demerger documents:• Review and revision of the sensitivity analysis model.• Production of the prospectus verification document for the external lawyers.Tiscali Integration Programme (TIP):• Reporting and analysis on the benefits generated by the TIP against the synergies announced to the city post acquisition of Tiscali.• Producing a monthly executive report explaining any variances to plan. Directly answering any queries from directors.• Communicating to the project team the financial impact of their actions.

From Oct 07 to Jan 08 I took a sabbatical from EDS to go travelling around the world. On my return to the UK I re-joined EDS in a new position. The role allowed me to develop the standard skills associated with accounting as well as utilising my MS Excel knowledge to improve reports and reduce the time taken to complete month end and budgeting processes. The other main responsibilities of the job include:• Working with ten separate business streams to produce and review their financial forecast before submission to the central planning and analysis function.• Inputting journals at month end to ensure that EDS are US GAAP and SOXA compliant.• Analysing revenue invoiced vs. achieved in order to make the relevant deferrals.• Reporting on variances between actual and forecast costs at month end.• P+L management of an area with a £4.5m monthly spend.• Working closely with the Business Development area to ensure that new contracts that are won are correctly forecast and financially managed.• Analysing the business streams’ cost base and reporting to management.• Capital expenditure forecasting for the IT Office.• Incorporation of process changes as the acquisition of EDS by HP takes effect.• Preparing financial models to agree new pricing baselines with the customer.

After completing my university studies, I accepted a position on the DII(F) account with EDS:• Analysing the financial impact of operational and technical change to the program/contract.• Producing financial models to support major change (new business) and software license deals from initiation through to management presentation and commercial decision.• Initiating a project to monitor expenses and investigate cost reduction.• Forecasting, reviewing and managing professional services contracts.• Business process improvements (especially in the resource planning area).• Preparing the labour expenditure forecast for the Engineering work stream.• Presenting to the area director the variances between forecast and actual cost/revenue.• Supporting the financial accounting team in preparing the outlook models including forecasting license revenue in line with US GAAP requirements.

• Creating MS Excel based financial models to forecast the costs and revenues of prospective bids. On one particular bid I successfully assisted a major win and received special commendation from the finance director for my efforts.• Responsible for developing a financial model which could be used by Project Managers to input relevant information in order to generate an automatic quote for customers.• Reviewing project finances against budget and reporting variances to senior management.• Trading margin and reviewing contingency against project risks.• Successful involvement in a transition to a new module of SAP.• Continuous financial support for over two hundred projects.• Preparing invoices and actively managing customer credit accounts. Performing aged debtor analysis for review with the Financial Controller.
