I worked on the United States’ team during the 2022 Locked Shields exercise the defend the imaginary country Berylia against cyberattacks. Leading up to the exercise, I created preparatory materials that focused on potential crises and messaging. During the exercise, I monitored social media and online information and coordinated between stations to confirm attacks, counter disinformation, promote prepared messaging and communicate with Berylia’s citizens.
